Some weddings are beautiful.
Some weddings are fun.
And every once in a while, a wedding comes along that feels truly magical.
Alexandra and Gage’s wedding weekend at Ant Street Inn in Brenham, Texas was exactly that.
From a welcome dinner filled with laughter and anticipation to a rain-kissed ceremony, an enchanted garden-inspired reception, Blue Bell ice cream, and a Mother’s Day farewell brunch, every part of the weekend reflected who they are as a couple—joyful, authentic, and completely devoted to one another.
As their wedding planner and designer, I had the honor of bringing their vision to life from beginning to end, creating an immersive wedding weekend experience for their family and friends.
Friday: Welcoming Guests to Brenham

Wedding weekends are some of my favorite celebrations because they allow couples to spend meaningful time with their loved ones beyond the wedding day itself.
Guests traveled to historic downtown Brenham and checked into the charming Ant Street Inn, a beautifully restored property that served as both lodging and wedding venue throughout the weekend.
Friday evening kicked off with a relaxed welcome gathering where family and friends had the opportunity to connect, explore the historic property, and settle in before the festivities officially began.
The excitement was palpable as everyone anticipated the celebration to come.

Saturday Morning: Getting Ready at Ant Street Inn

Saturday began with a calm and joyful morning as Alexandra and Gage prepared for one of the biggest days of their lives.
One of the things I love most about Ant Street Inn is the character and history woven throughout every room. The property provided the perfect backdrop for getting ready photos, quiet moments with family, and the anticipation that builds before a ceremony.
Throughout the morning, vendors arrived and transformed the space while the couple enjoyed time with their closest family and friends.

An Outdoor Ceremony and Perfect Timing

The plan was always to host the ceremony outdoors.
As guests arrived and took their seats, dark clouds began rolling across the sky. While the forecast wasn’t ideal, I knew the couple had planned a short ceremony and there was still a small window of opportunity before the rain arrived.
Rather than moving everything indoors, we made the decision to begin the ceremony approximately ten minutes early.
It turned out to be one of the best decisions of the entire day.
The ceremony itself was a heartfelt Christian civil ceremony officiated by a professional officiant from Officially Oaks. In just fifteen minutes, Alexandra and Gage exchanged vows surrounded by the people who love them most.
And then something incredible happened.
The moment they walked back down the aisle together as husband and wife, the rain began to fall.
Not during the ceremony.
Not during their vows.
Not during family photos.
Right after.
The timing felt almost unbelievable.
The approaching storm cooled the air after a hot Texas afternoon, creating a comfortable and peaceful atmosphere for the ceremony. Watching it all unfold brought tears to my eyes. It was one of those wedding moments that no amount of planning could ever create, yet somehow felt perfectly meant to be.

Cocktail Hour and Creative Problem Solving

As the ceremony concluded and the rain arrived, our team quickly pivoted.
Because of the weather, we relocated the bar indoors during the ceremony and transformed one side of the ballroom into a cozy cocktail hour space while guests mingled and enjoyed refreshments.
Passed appetizers circulated throughout the room while guests explored the historic venue and enjoyed one of the couple’s most unique entertainment experiences—a live artist creating individual guest portraits throughout cocktail hour.
The adjustment was seamless and allowed everyone to remain comfortable while still enjoying the celebration.

A Reception Designed Down to the Last Detail

Walking into the reception space felt like stepping into an enchanted garden.
This design was especially meaningful to me because I personally curated and designed every detail within the room.
From the custom dance floor design to the cake design, floral installations, tablescapes, candlelight, and overall aesthetic, every element was intentionally selected to create a romantic garden-inspired atmosphere that felt both elegant and whimsical.

Lush greenery draped from the ceiling while colorful florals filled the room with soft shades of blush, lavender, yellow, peach, and ivory.
One of my favorite design elements was repurposing the ceremony florals. The floral pillars and meadow arrangements were relocated and incorporated into the sweetheart table design, allowing the beauty of the ceremony flowers to continue telling the story throughout the reception.
When Alexandra and Gage entered for their private room reveal, they were completely speechless.
Watching their reaction to a room that had existed only in planning conversations and design boards for months was one of the most rewarding moments of the entire weekend.

Dinner with Thoughtful Details

Following grand entrances and heartfelt parent dances, guests were invited to enjoy a full-service plated dinner.
One of the most thoughtful details incorporated into dinner service was the custom ribbon menu system.
Each guest’s menu featured a chiffon ribbon indicating their selected entrée:
• Dark Green – Steak
• Light Green – Salmon
• Ivory – Chicken
Not only was it visually beautiful, but it also allowed dinner service to flow efficiently and seamlessly.
The result was a dining experience that felt elevated, personalized, and perfectly integrated into the overall design aesthetic.
Blue Bell Ice Cream and a Packed Dance Floor

After dinner, the couple cut their wedding cake before surprising guests with a uniquely Brenham dessert experience.
Because Brenham is the home of Blue Bell Ice Cream, guests were served slices of wedding cake alongside Blue Bell ice cream.
Wanting to make the experience even more memorable, I visited the Blue Bell factory before the wedding and picked up authentic Blue Bell paper hats for guests to wear during dessert service.
The hats were an instant hit.
Guests laughed, posed for photos, and embraced the playful surprise before making their way onto the dance floor.
Once the DJ opened the dance floor, the celebration kicked into high gear.
Friends danced together, family members filled the floor, and the energy remained high throughout the evening.
The dance floor quickly became one of the most joyful parts of the day.

Downtown Brenham Portraits

As the reception came to a close, Alexandra and Gage slipped away for one final portrait session.
The historic streets of downtown Brenham provided the perfect backdrop for nighttime photographs that felt romantic, playful, and uniquely reflective of their personalities.
From murals and historic storefronts to intimate moments inside the inn itself, the portraits perfectly captured the joy and excitement of newly married life.
These images felt less like wedding portraits and more like a glimpse into the beginning of their next chapter together.

Sunday: A Mother’s Day Farewell Brunch

The wedding weekend ended on an especially meaningful note.
Because Sunday was Mother’s Day, we wanted to create one final experience that celebrated the mothers and special women who had spent the weekend supporting and celebrating the couple.
The evening before, after the reception concluded, the florist and our team carefully deconstructed many of the wedding florals.
Instead of allowing those blooms to go to waste, we organized stems into buckets and created a flower bar complete with kraft paper and twine so guests could build their own bouquets to take home.
It was a simple idea that became one of the sweetest moments of the weekend.
Additional florals were repurposed into mason jars provided by Ant Street Inn and used as centerpieces throughout the brunch space.
The reception room transformed once again—this time into a relaxed Mother’s Day brunch gathering.
The bar became a mimosa station while Ant Street Inn prepared a breakfast buffet for guests to enjoy throughout the morning.
Family and friends gathered one final time to share breakfast, create bouquets, sip mimosas, and reflect on an unforgettable weekend together.
There was no timeline to follow and no formal agenda.
Just flowers, family, and meaningful moments.
A Weekend We’ll Never Forget

From a perfectly timed ceremony, an enchanted garden reception, Blue Bell ice cream and factory hats, historic downtown portraits, and a Mother’s Day brunch filled with flowers and family, Alexandra and Gage’s wedding weekend was one of those celebrations that reminds us why we love what we do.
It was thoughtful.
It was joyful.
It was deeply personal.
And it was an absolute honor to bring their vision to life.
Congratulations, Alexandra and Gage. Thank you for trusting Timeless Rose Events to be part of such an unforgettable chapter in your story.
